Mindless Eating

Think you are too smart to be tricked by packages, lighting, or plates?  Do you think like most people that how much you eat is determined mainly by how hungry you are, how much you like the food or what mood you are in?  Most of us are blissfully unaware of what influences how much we eat.  We might think others could be tricked but not us.  That’s what makes mindless eating so dangerous.  We are rarely aware that it is happening to us! This workshop will focus on several studies done with people just like us who thought they couldn’t be tricked.  We will see how what we eat and how much we eat is influenced by things like, packages, plates, names, distractions, family, friends, containers etc.  We will learn how to make more mindful and healthy decisions at the table, restaurant, supermarket and vending machine based on the findings from this research.
